| | Matt Kenseth held his nerve to win Nascar's Subway 400 race at Rockingham after a thrilling finish. The long-time race leader pipped rookie driver Kasey Kahne by just 0.01 seconds to get his first win for nearly a year. Defending series champion Kenseth now trails Daytona 500 winner Earnhardt Jr by seven points in the standings. Sunday's Nascar race could be the last at the North Carolina track, which may fall victim to a realignment plan next year due to low attendances.
