Enge wins in Austria
Tomas Enge led from start to finish to triumph in the Formula 3000 race on the A1-Ring in Austria on Saturday.

The Czech won the 35-lap battle on the Zeltweg track by a comfortable 3.7 secs from Arden International team-mate Bjorn Wirdheim of Sweden.

Victory took Enge, who competed for the now-defunct Prost Grand Prix team last season, into joint first in the drivers' standings.

After four of the 12 races, he is now level with Italy's Giorgio Pantano (Coloni F3000) who was fourth today, on 17 points.

Mario Haberfeld, the Brazilian who drives for Team Astromega, finished third almost five seconds adrift of Enge.

F3000 results from A1-Ring, Austria:

1 Tomas Enge (Cze) Arden International 48mins 53.862secs
2 Bjorn Wirdheim (Swe) Arden International at 3.716secs
3 Mario Haberfeld (Bra) Team Astromega at 4.867
4 Giorgio Pantano (Ita) Coloni F3000 at 5.596
5 Patrick Freisacher (Aut) Red Bull Junior Team at 9.963
6 Enrico Toccacelo (Ita) Coloni F3000 at 10.673
