Delays vex Dokic
Jelena Dokic is forced to come out fighting again
Jelena Dokic is forced to come out fighting again
By BBC Sport Online's Steve Cresswell at Wimbledon

Jelena Dokic was furious despite beating Barbara Schett 6-3 7-5 to book a fourth round meeting with Lindsay Davenport.

The reason for Miss Dokic's anger?

Well firstly the car booked to bring her to the All England Tennis Club failed to turn up and despite calls to the Tournament Director and transport officials the problem was not rectified.

It left Dokic to get a taxi and no time to practice ahead of her match against the Austrian on Court One.

They said my dad was going to try and psyche Barbara out on the side of the court. I mean it's crazy

"I'm very disappointed," said Dokic. "If you can't organise something like that then you can't run a tournament." Dokic experienced similar problems at the Australian Open a couple of years ago.

"Maybe it's just me," she quipped.

Christopher Gorringe, chief execeutive of the All England Club said in a statement: "We are obviously concerned whensomeone has a complaint about the quality of The Championships Transport Service.

"We are looking into the details, but so far we have had nothing but praise for the efficient and friendly way the Transport Service has worked this year."

And a newspaper article in Saturday's edition of The Mirror about Jelena's father Damir did little to improve her mood.

"That stirred me up," she said. "I think its really not funny anymore. I think it was as bad as it could get.

And she added: "When an article is written like it was this morning it really isn't doing any good to anybody. It really isn't interesting to read anymore.

"If they have nothing else to write about then that's really sad.

"They said my dad was going to try and psyche Barbara out on the side of the court. I mean it's crazy. He doesn't deserve that, especially after getting back on the Tour."

But Dokic did not let her bad morning affect her against Schett.

"If it didn't affect me today, it's not going to affect me at all. It was a really good mental test for me. I think I did well."
