Moin must bide his time

There is no place, however, for former skipper Moin Khan, who was discarded following the tour of New Zealand earlier this year.

"Naturally I am disappointed, but it is not the end of the world.

"I believe I have a lot of cricket left in me and that's the driving force which keep me pumping to work even harder," Khan commented.

Pakistan will also be without fast bowler Mohammad Sami, who was ruled out of the one-day competition earlier this week because of a shin problem.

Sami is regarded as one of Pakistan's brightest prospects after taking eight wickets in his debut Test against New Zealand earlier this year.

"We want him to completely recover from the injury before stepping back onto the field," said Pakistan Cricket Board chairman Tauqir Zia.
