Sami setback for Pakistan
Mohammad Sami tries to keep wazrm at Trent Bridge
Conditions did not suit Sami at the start of the tour
Fast bowler Mohammad Sami will not play again on Pakistan's current tour of England because of injury.

He is still suffering from a shin problem which kept him out of the squad for the first Test at Lord's.

The 20-year-old is to have treatment in London, but will not be considered for the second Test at Old Trafford or the triangular one-day series, also involving Australia.

"We don't want to risk his career. We don't mind him getting treatment but playing in the one-day tournament is out of the question," said Pakistan Cricket Board chairman Tauqir Zia.

"We want him to completely recover from the injury before stepping back onto the field."

Sami is regarded as one of Pakistan's brightest prospects after taking eight wickets in his debut Test against New Zealand earlier this year.

He has played in two games in England, picking up three wickets in the win over a British Universities side and the same number in the drawn game against Kent.

But he was plagued by a no ball problem at Canterbury, where he overstepped on 16 occasions.

Pakistan will pick from their remaining 16 players for the second Test, which they must win to share the series, having lost by an innings and nine runs at Lord's.

Zia confirmed, however, that the squad would be revamped for next month's one-day tournament.
