![]() | Pybus boycotts Boycott ![]() Boycott makes a point during a training session Former England batsman Geoffrey Boycott will not be involved in coaching the Pakistan team during their current tour. The Yorkshireman was paid 30,000 for a two-week visit to Lahore in February when he worked with talented youngsters and established international players. The Pakistan Cricket Board is keen for Boycott, a veteran of 108 Tests, to return later this year. But Richard Pybus, the new coach of the Pakistan team, says Boycott's services will not be required during the current tour to England. "You don't want too many cooks in the same soup," he said. Pybus will be assisted by Australian Daryl Foster, who will act as a specialist bowling coach. It is Pybus' second stint in the job, having previously been sacked following their 3-0 defeat in Australia in 1999. "There were circumstances in Pakistan last time, a military coup and a change of Board, but I am happy now. "I've always had a good relationship with the players and the mood in the camp is excellent," he said. "What made me interested in working with Pakistan again was that I'd heard some very good things about the present Board and they have a long-term perspective. "They are looking for consistency of personnel, which is usually a basis for success." |
