Chris Silverwood

DOB:Born: 5.3.75
County:Yorkshire

One-day international debut: v Zimbabwe, Bulawayo 1996

Right arm fast bowler, right hand batsman

A recall to the England squad for the 2nd Ashes Test was as good as it got for Silverwood in summer 2001.

A niggling rib injury restricted his involvement in Yorkshire's Championship-winning campaign, but he did top their averages with 33 wickets at 19 each from just eight appearances.

The 26-year-old began his international career in Zimbabwe five years ago, taking four wickets in the drawn first Test at Bulawayo.

Gained a recall on the 1999/2000 tour of South Africa, his five for 91 in the fourth Test was not enough to cement his place in the side.

Bowled with genuine pace on last winter's England A tour of the West Indies last year, where he was rated the fastest bowler in the Caribbean.

A record of three wickets at 67 in six one-day internationals does not do him justice and he will want to remedy that in Zimbabwe.
