Defending champions Australia cruised to a 10-wicket victory over the Netherlands in the Women's Cricket World Cup.

On a hot day, the Australians were set a target of 108 to win - a total they managed within 23.5 overs.

Australia, who have qualified for the semi-finals, were playing in a meaningless match against a Netherlands side who were already last in the competition.

Australia captain Belinda Clark scored an unbeaten 48 after having made a total of 137 runs in six games before Saturday's encounter.

Coach John Harmer was delighted with his skipper's efforts.

Keightley joy

"I was very happy to see Belinda getting runs again today. She's had two not outs in her last two innings and I was quite pleased with her last 20 today. She was hitting over the top and using her feet," he said.

Lisa Keightley continued to impress with her third 50 of the tournament, coming off just 70 balls. She now has a total of 284 runs in the competition at an average of 71.0.

Pauline te Beest's 42 in the Netherlands score of 107-7 was the highlight for the European side.

Avril Fahey gave the Dutch major problems and finished with figures of 3-19 off eight overs.

Charmaine Mason, who eventually left the field injured, managed to take 1-4 off her seven overs.

Australia now face South Africa in the semi-finals.
