Thousands packed Wembley for Live Aid

That August saw the London Rock and Roll Show under the Twin Towers, featuring Bill Haley and the Comets, Jerry Lee Lewis, Little Richard and Chuck Berry.

The 80s and 90s meanwhile saw many other big names wow the Wembley crowd, with Live Aid the undoubted highlight.

But in September 2000, Bon Jovi had the honour - and what a performance they produced.

Lead singer Jon was clearly thrilled that the band were carving themselves into Wembley folklore.

He told the appreciative crowd that the band was "privileged to be the last band at Wembley Stadium and proud to follow a long line of superstars including Michael Jackson and Elton John."

We partied the evening away to famous anthems like Livin' on a Prayer, You Give Love a Bad Name and Wanted which had the fans screaming with delight and Wembley rocking at the rafters.

Given the sheer ecstasy at being part of such a special occasion, most of the concert actually passed me by in a surreal blur.

But after three hours of raucous rock - and several enthusiastic encores - Jon and co. left the stage to tumultuous applause and a huge fireworks display.

It was a fitting end to an era which has seen many of music's most famous names grace the venue.

And I too was proud that I could savour my own little bit of Wembley history.
