![]() | Rees quits as Keys coach ![]() Dai Rees will continue to coach Wales U19 Cross Keys have confirmed the departure of Dai Rees as coach after their relegation from the Welsh-Scottish League. Rees will concentrate on his duties with the Wales under 19 team and also wants to spend more time with his young family. "It's time to move on for me because I've got a new job and a young baby and the club needs a fresh approach anyway," he said. "It's a sad day but I've got some superb memories of the club. "We've got six internationals as well as the World Cup in Italy next year for the Wales under 19's so it'll be a tough time there - and I'm hoping to start my level four coaching award." Club secretary Chris Clark said: "We're on the lookout for a replacement and we're in a good financial position. "David's been heavily involved in the Wales set up and we always felt he'd move on. "We've also contracted 12 of our forwards for next season in the first division." The Keys lost their last game of the season 5-66, a score which reflected the impossible task they faced in Welsh rugby's top flight. They finished with just a solitary win - a 16-10 triumph over Edinburgh in January - and conceded over 1000 points. | See also: Other top Welsh-Scottish Rugby stories: Links to top Welsh-Scottish Rugby stories are at the foot of the page. | ||
