![]() | Bridgend punish off-colour Reds ![]() Craig Warlow was in fine form with the boot Glasgow Caledonians 15-22 Bridgend Bridgend fly-half Craig Warlow gave a masterclass in goal-kicking as the Reds shot themselves in the foot to lose their first game to Welsh opposition at Hughenden in this Welsh-Scottish League campaign. Warlow struck four penalties, a conversion and a drop goal, but also turned the Reds time and time again with thunderous clearance kicks. The Reds contributed to their downfall with an inept first-half performance, going in at the break with a 16-0 deficit. The turning point came as early as the ninth minute when a slack Andy Nicol pass was intercepted by Jamie Ringer who raced 45 metres unopposed for the try. Thereafter the Reds were always chasing the game, whilst the visitors could sit back and defend. After the interval Shaun Longstaff and Gordon Simpson had the strength to break the Bridgend line for tries, but poor ball retention stopped the Reds from creating the pressure required to score further tries.
