Llanelli keep Wales stars in reserve
Scott Quinnell
Scott Quinnell has been named as a replacement
Llanelli coach Gareth Jenkins has opted to keep his Wales stars on the bench for Saturday's Welsh-Scottish League match against Cross Keys at Stradey Park.

Of the Scarlets involved in last Saturday's Six Nations defeat to England at the Millennium Stadium, only Dafydd James, at outside-centre, and Chris Wyatt, at blindside flanker, are in the starting line-up to face Keys.

Robin McBryde, Scott Quinnell, Rupert Moon and Stephen Jones are all on standby among the reserves, while wing Mark Jones has been left out of the squad altogether.

Respect

We've got to win to get that fourth or fifth spot
  Scott Quinnell
"With all due respect to Cross Keys," Jones said, "who are a very good team - they picked up a great victory against Edinburgh Reivers a fortnight ago - its not as tough a match as, say, Bridgend at Cardiff.

"But they're going to be coming down here in good spirits after that and we're not taking them lightly by any means - but we can use our squad for this game."

Quinnell also believes that Llanelli have the strength in depth to see off the challenge of Keys, and was quick to dismiss the idea that there will be any hangover from the defeat to England.

Eager

"We're still disappointed but we're back in the club and we've got a big league fixture, one that we've got to win to get that fourth or fifth spot at the end of the year to take us into Europe. I'll focus on that now.

"There's a lot of quality in the squad and there's a lot of players eager to get out there," Quinnell said. "They've done a lot of training with Wayne Proctor over the last couple of weeks and they want to show what they can do on the park now."

Llanelli team: M Cardey; W Proctor, D James, L Davies, G Evans; A Lawson, D Peel; P Booth, M Thomas, J Davies, V Cooper, C Gillies, C Wyatt, M Buckingham, D Jones. Reps: M Madden, R McBryde, S Quinnell, A Gravelle, R Moon, S Jones, S Finau.
