![]() | Jarvis steals Ponty show ![]() Ponty points machine Lee Jarvis Pontypridd 59-19 Cross Keys Pontypridd, so unlucky to lose at current champions Cardiff last weekend, bounced back on the winning trail in grand style with this convincing success over struggling visitors Cross Keys. Ponty's trump card and man of the match was fly-half Lee Jarvis with 39 points including four tries, eight conversions and a penalty - a Welsh-Scottish Premiere league record. Pontypridd started with a bang taking the lead after two minutes with a try by prop Fe'ao Vunipola. Cross Keys surprisingly hit back, wing Chris Arnold crossing under the post within three minutes and Jamie Webb converting. Ponty, shaken by this reversal, got their act together surging in front with a try by Jarvis who added the conversion and later kicked a penalty. Minutes later Jarvis was at it again crossing for his second try near the corner that he converted. Ponty continued to dominate and before the interval added further tries from Craig Williams and Richard Neville, both converted by Jarvis to give his side a 38-7 advantage. On the restart Ponty continued on the offensive and after pressure Jarvis added another touch-down that he converted. Cross Keys were pinned on the defensive, but an interception by wing Steve Reed in his own 22 left the Ponty defence helpless as he raced 70 meters up field to touch-down near the post. In the last quarter, with substitutions galore, Ponty added a further touch-down from Jarvis - his fourth - that he converted himself. In the closing stages Ponty added a try from Michael Owen that Jarvis converted, with Paul Watkins responding with a try for Cross Keys.
