The visitors raced into a 17-6 lead after 27 minutes and were still 17-14 ahead at half-time. But the lead changed hands a further five times during the second half with a 62nd-minute try by Shane Williams putting the home side 27-22 in front. Back came the spirited visitors to lead 29-27 before, in the 74th minute, substitute full-back Kevin James went over for Williams to convert from the touch-line.
