Richard Rees: Amongst the tries against the Keys
Swansea 55-3 Cross Keys

Swansea consolidated their position at the top of the Welsh-Scottish League and stretched their unbeaten run in all competitions to 11 matches with a summary dismissal of Cross Keys.

It was not a vintage Swansea today, but they still managed to score nine tries against the bottom club who have now lost all 11 of their league matches this season.

Shaun Payne led the rout with a hat-trick from the left wing which included two tries in as many minutes in the first half to give Swansea a 29-3 advantage.

It had taken Swansea 10 minutes to get their first score on the board when Steve Winn went over for the first of his two tries.

It was not all one-way traffic, with Cross Keys enjoying more possession than they probably expected, and Swansea made more mistakes than they would have liked.

In the second half Swansea continued to dominate proceedings and scored four more tries, with fly-half Cerith Rees - who ended the match with 15 points - pouncing on a loose ball for the opening try.

Swansea's victory came at a cost, however.

Hooker Chris Wells was carried off after just three minutes with a knee ligament injury that could keep him sidelined for a month, and full-back Kevin Morgan limped off with a dead leg.
