The Welsh-Scottish league match at Sardis Road was abandoned at half-time because of heavy rain and the match will now be replayed.

The pitch was left saturated after a torrential downpour at the end of the first-half.

Glasgow led 21-14 when the match officials made their decision and were on course to become the first Scottish side to win in Wales this season.

Caley scored three scintilating first-half tries through Gordon Simpson, James Craig and Tommy Hayes, with Pontypridd scoring an equally impressive effort through prop Nalu Ta'u.

The quick rucking game played by Caley was causing Ponty endless problems with the back row trio of Simpson, Macfadyen and Petrie outstanding.

Pontypridd new boy Alan Hunte, making his league debut after switching from rugby league, showed impressive bursts, but struggled slightly in the tackle area.

That said, it was Hunte's strength and speed which set up Ponty's solitary try.

But they will be breathing a sigh of relief that they will have another chance to tackle impressive Glasgow.
