![]() | Ronnie rockets to victory ![]() O'Sullivan needed 30 minutes to polish off Michie Ronnie O'Sullivan wasted little time in booking his place in the last 16 of the UK Championship by inflicting a 9-2 defeat on Jimmy Michie. The world number four required only 30 minutes to convert his 6-2 first session lead into victory and make a winning start to his campaign for a third UK title. O'Sullivan, who won the tournament in 1993 and 1997, made breaks of 92 and 61 to lead 8-2 and got the two snookers he required to claim the next frame after Michie had made a break of 72. But despite winning the Champions Cup and Regal Masters title this season, O'Sullivan said his best was yet to come. "I haven't done anything spectacular this season," said the Englishman. "The snooker hasn't been the best ever but I'm focusing on the job and if I'm not playing to the best of my ability, then second best will have to do. "When my game does come together, however, results will come a lot easier and my game will be more flowing. But at the moment I'm just doing what I have to do to win." |
