The moment of the day has to be Erik Dekker's win by less than one second on the finish line in Lausanne.

Remarkably it was Dekker's third stage victory in this Tour, and when you consider that he is neither a sprinter, time triaillist or mountain climber it really is quite an achievement.

It's highly unlikely for that to happen in the Tour these days. Dekker is riding in his seventh and had never won a stage.

On this occasion he timed his breakaway to perfection less than 4km from the line and hung on with the main pack gaining on him with every revolution of he pedals.

Another few metres and he would have been beaten.
