Eye on the Tiger: Round two
Tiger Woods
Tiger Woods gets fired up on the second tee
Tiger Woods finishes his second round with a score of 66 with another impressive display as his hopes for the Open crown increase as he sits at the top of the leaderboard on eleven-under-par.

BBC Sport Online has continued to follow the world number one, who played with Nick Price and amateur David Gossett on day two, on his quest to complete golf's Grand Slam. More to come on Saturday.

Hole 1: Tiger Woods tees off at 14:00 BST. Drives in front of a huge gallery and the ball drifts safely down the right hand side of the fairway. Second shot is pitched into the green and back spin holds the ball within 35 feet. Sinks his first putt to claim a birdie.Six under

Hole 2: A long iron heads towards the sand but holds on the left side of fairway. Chips to edge of the green. 30 foot putt just passes the rim of cup - holes out for his par.

Hole 3: Mid-iron flies down middle of fairway. Frustration shows as sand iron pushes ball on to tricky ridge of green. Long putt drifts agonisingly to the right of hole. A safe par.

Hole 4: The 3 wood comes out and the ball flies almost 280 yards over the bunker. 168 yard second shot lands stone dead within 15 inches. Grabs his second birdie of the day.Seven under

Hole 5: The 30 minute wait at the tee is over. Drives down the left and rolls in to the short rough. 182 yards to the pin - the ball lands on the slope but finishes in the gully short of the green. Putts up the hill and comes within a few inches of an eagle. Four foot putt brings him another birdie. Eight under

Hole 6: A huge drive leaves him just short of the left hand side of the green. Misjudges low approach shot and ends on the back of green. Putts to within a foot of the hole and then gets his par.

Hole 7: A long iron heads down the fairway but lands in a crater and settles into a repaired divot hole. 103 yards to pin and punches ball towards green but spin denies him a closer putt. Putts up the hill and falls wide to the right. Another par.

Hole 8: Hits into a strengthening breeze and lands on to middle of the green. A disappointing putt still leaves Woods two feet to the hole. Putts out for par.

Hole 9: The ball flies from the tee and falls just behind the dangerous bunkers. Pitches within 30 feet of the pin. A solid straight putt seals a fine birdie and an impressive outward nine holes. Nine under

Hole 10: 379 yard hole sees his drive miss the bunkers but the ball settles into thick rough on the right. The smile disappears. A hard bounce after a pitch on to the green and the ball drifts away from the pin. Putts three feet short. A shaky looking putt just falls inside the cup for a par. Still no dropped shots in tournament.

Hole 11: Ball lands within 25 feet of the pin on the 174 yard par three. A long putt just goes wide. Hole parred.

Hole 12:A massive drive of 320 yards into the breeze takes the ball up to the right side of the green in the light rough. Chips into green and putts comfortably from 15 feet for his fifth birdie of the day. Ten under

Hole 13:Ball evades all bunkers and has a good view of green. Second shot hits the green but drifts 40 feet to the right of the pin. Woods jogs off the fairway for a well earned bathroom stop. Returns to double putt for a par.

Hole 14:Drives down the right side of the fairway and settles in the light rough in front of the wall. Blasted the ball with a 2 iron down the right and is still left short of the green. Lofts the ball over a steep mound and biting the green holds within 20 feet of the pin. Putting is looking easy and holes out for another birdie. Eleven under

Hole 15:Driver pushes the ball down the heart of the fairway. The lofted club comes out of the bag again, but by Woods' standards, he is disappointed with a chip beyond the hole. A very controlled putt with the perfect line just falls within a whisker of the cup. Has to settle for a par.

Hole 16:The ball shoots down the right side of the fairway - the perfect position for a chip into the green. The wind is increasing and with 197 yards to the pin Woods miscalculates an attempted faded shot. The slope of the green takes the ball away into a dip to leave a very tricky putt. Little fazes Woods and double putts comfortably to save his par. On to the wonderful 17th.

Hole 17:The wind holds up the drive and settles nicely on the left side of the fairway. 183 yards to pin and Woods makes his first major mistake of the day with the ball flying right towards the infamous road surface. Luck is on his side and the ball settles on a small patch of grass. Chips beyond the pin but the bank of the bunker holds the ball up nicely. Holds his nerve and holes out for a fortunate par.

Hole 18:The wind prevents a full length drive but a clever low shot keeps him out of trouble. The ball falls safely amongst the many mounds. Using the sandwedge and 51 yards from the hole Woods lands safely into the centre of the green. Two putts and he was home and dry for a fabulous six-under-par round of 66. Woods heads the leaderboard with an impressive eleven-under-par.
