Two tries in two minutes kept Saracens' European Cup hopes alive with victory in their Pool Three match against Toulouse at Vicarage Road.

Centre Kevin Sorrell scored in the first two minutes at the start of the second-half after excellent work from fellow centre Tom Shanklin.

And Scott Murray immediately added the second when winger Darren O'Mahony brilliant 40m run was ended just inches from the line.

But the second row followed up to go over for the score to give Saracens a 27-13 lead.

Duncan McRae, who converted both tries, had another consistent game, kicking 17 points in the match.

Bad mistake

The French side responded in the 54th minute when former Saracens fly-half Alain Penaud scored to reduce the deficit to 27-18.

And Michel Marfaing brought his side back into contention with a 73rd minute try to leave only seven points between the sides after McRae kicked a penalty.

But a mistake from France wing Emile N'Tmack, who dropped the ball on his own line two minutes from time, gave the home side the scrum from where Kieran Roche put the tie beyond doubt.

Earlier, full-back Brett Sparg scored the first try of the game after only three minutes after Dan Luger had accelerated through the Toulouse defence.

But Toulouse scrum half Joseph Ilharreguy caught the Saracens defence unaware to score his side's first try of the game.

Marfaing and McRae both exchanged penalties as the first half finished level at 13-13.

But the two early second-half tries proved too much for the French side to overhaul.
