As wickets tumbled in a thrilling finale at Colombo, England batsman Graham Thorpe clinched a series victory for his side in Sri Lanka with a brilliant performance while bowler Ashley Giles, who took four second innings wickets, captured the winning runs.

    England kept the advantage on the second day of the Colombo Test. After bowling Sri Lanka out for 241, England managed to score 175 for the loss of four wickets, with a marvellous unbeaten 71 from Graham Thorpe.
