The 29-year-old wicket-keeper had been appointed skipper until the end of the current series against England, but solid leadership has seen his contract extended. "The Board is satisfied with Khan's leadership and with the hope that he will improve further we have extended his captaincy tenure until June 2001," said PCB head Lieutenant General Tauqir Zia. Moin has made 61 Test appearances since making his debut in November 1990, taking 108 catches and scoring more than 2,400 runs. He has also played 185 one-day internationals. Pakistan will next play three Tests and five-one day matches in New Zealand in February to be followed by a tri-nations event in Sharjah in April. They will then embark on a two-Test series in England and will also take part in a triangular one-day series, also including Australia. "Khan, Inzamam-ul-Haq as vice captain and Javed Miandad as coach have been working well and we want to give them a continuity," added Zia. Miandad has been appointed coach until the 2003 World Cup in South Africa. | Other top England on Tour stories: Links to top England on Tour stories are at the foot of the page. | ||
