Captains Nasser Hussain and Moin Khan were both happy with their team's after the first Test between England and Pakistan in Lahore ended in a draw.

Hussain confirmed that his wrist was okay having retired hurt after being hit by a delivery from Wasim Akram, and he believes his side will benefit from the experience of their first Test in Pakistan for more than a decade.

"It was our first Test in this part of the world for 13 years so everyone's eyes were on us to see how we would play the spin and reverse swing and we're fully confident now," he said.

"We've taken some huge strides in this Test match, but we've got to remember we won the first one-day international and then the wheels came off so we'll keep our feet on the ground and keep working."

Delighted with the performances of everyone in the England team, Hussain had special praise for Craig White who followed up his innings of 93 with four wickets.

"He had a top game. He's a nice lad, everyone likes him in the team and everyone wants to see him do well.

"He always said watch out for me with the bat and I think his batting came to life here in Lahore."

Pakistan's Moin Khan was equally content with the efforts of his side and believed both sides had played their part in a good contest.

"It was a good performance as far as my boys were concerned and it was a good game of Test cricket," said Moin.

The Pakistani wicketkeeper spoke highly of Yousuf Youhana after the only Christian in the home side compiled a very impressive 124.

"He's a great improvisor of the game and he always bats like this in all conditions. He played a great role like this on the West Indies tour."
