A career-best round of seven-under-par 63 saw Rod Pampling earn a one-shot lead after the second round of the Colonial tournament in Texas. The Australian carded eight birdies and one bogey to finish on 10 under, one ahead of Charley Hoffman, first- round leader Stewart Cink and Stephen Ames. Jim Furyk lies three off the pace, with two-time winner and defending champion Kenny Perry three further behind. Briton Justin Rose is in a large group on three under par.
