Vijay Singh continues to lead the Mercedes Championships in Hawaii after carding a four-under-par 69 in the third round on Saturday.

The Fijian world number one, who has led since the first round, has yet to drop a shot in the tournament.

Jonathan Kaye has cut Singh's lead to one shot after firing a seven-under 66 to lie 18 under overall.

Ernie Els is a shot further back after a 68 while Tiger Woods is five off the pace after a 69.

Woods would have been closer but two late bogeys halted his move up the field.

Singh teed off two shots clear of the field but was soon caught - and briefly passed - by a fast-starting Els.

But Singh soon found his touch with two birdies on the front nine to retake the lead. He added an eagle at the par-five 15th, where he rifled his second shot to within nine feet of the pin.

Singh finished second here last year, setting himself up for a brilliant season in which he dominated the PGA Tour, winning nine times.

Defending champion Stuart Appleby shot a 66 on Saturday and trails by four shots.
