Europe's unbeaten partnership of Lee Westwood and Sergio Garcia secured their third successive Ryder Cup win with a defeat of Jim Furyk and Stewart Cink.

The young Englishman and Spaniard, with a combined age of just 51, maintained their 100% record despite some erratic play.

And they continued in Saturday's morning foursomes where they left off after two victories on Friday.

Despite a scrappy start where they missed the first six fairways, Westwood and Garcia built up an early lead.

They went one up at the fourth when Cink missed an eight-footer, and were two ahead after eight with Westwood holing a long putt.

At the seventh, they had escaped with a half when Furyk squandered an easy chance and both pairs bogeyed.

The Americans took their chance at the ninth to peg one hole back, and snatched a half at the 15th when Westwood misread a short putt.

But Europe went two up again at the next, and a half at the 17th was enough to seal the win.

Afterwards, Westwood said: "We had a bit more fun today and made a few more putts.

"It wasn't a high-quality match but we didn't give too much away. It was tricky to finish them off, but we managed it in the end."

Garcia added: "We have played great every day.

"Maybe we struggled a bit today but that goes with the pressure of trying to win as many points as you can.

"It wasn't the greatest match in Ryder Cup history but we managed to win it."
