Solheim Cup goes to Indiana
European captain Catrin Nilsmark and American captain Patty Sheehan
Europe and the US will clash in Sweden this year
The ninth Solheim Cup will be held in Carmel, Indiana in September 2005.

The Crooked Stick Golf Club will play host to the top American and European golfers as they contest the women's equivalent of the Ryder Cup.

Sweden is preparing to host this year's Solheim Cup in Malmo in September - the first time the event has been held away from American or British courses.

Britain has chosen the Vale of Glamorgan Golf Club for its bid to stage the Solheim Cup in 2007.

The course on the outskirts of Cardiff will compete with Ireland, Spain and Portugal for hosting rights.

The US have won the event five times, compared to just twice for Europe, and have never lost on home soil.

They came close to tasting defeat last year when they had to recover from 9-7 down on the final day.
