First round: The eyes of the golfing world are on the game's top three ranked players - Germany's Martin Kaymer (left), England's Lee Westwood and America's Tiger Woods
Former world number one Woods, without a win since November 2009, has problems on the greens early in his opening round with a series of short putts missed
World number one Westwood, who missed the cut in last week's European Tour tournament, has to make one fine escape but otherwise keeps the ball in play in round one
Kaymer plays serenely on the opening day apart from a cruel ricochet at the ninth which costs him two shots
Woods plays his magnificent three-wood to the final green that sets him up for a closing eagle three
But it is Rory McIlroy who grabs the first day headlines with a superb 65, four ahead of Westwood and Kaymer and six clear of Woods
Second round: Tiger Woods comes onto the course looking to improve upon his first round score of 71. He starts well, making three birdies in the opening nine
Lee Westwood scored a three-under 69 on day one, and manages a 70 in the second round to leave him five off the lead
The third member of the "big three", Germany's Martin Kaymer, cards a 71 and is one behind Westwood at four under
Woods starts his round from the 10th hole and attracts big crowds wherever he goes, his followers are rewarded with a sixth birdie of the day on the sixth
Sergio Garcia enjoys more success with his new claw putting grip and posts a second successive 67 to share second place at 10 under
But the prodigious Northern Irishman Rory McIlroy retains his lead after a birdie at the 18th takes him one clear at 11 under
