McDowell finished third at last week's Tournament of Champions |
Graeme McDowell has now moved level with Phil Mickelson in fourth place in the world rankings - the Portrush man's highest ever position. McDowell's third place at last week's Tournament of Champions in the Hawaii helped the US Open champion move up one place in the rankings. Mickelson and McDowell will both be in action at this week's Abu Dhabi Championship on the European Tour. Rory McIlroy remains 12th in the ratings headed by Lee Westwood. Englishman Westwood stays in front of the pack having taken the top spot from Tiger Woods on 31 October. Woods, yet to start his 2011 season, remains in second place ahead of US PGA champion Martin Kaymer. Padraig Harrington is now 26th in the rankings.
