Boyd recorded four top-10 finishes on the European Tour this year |
Brackley golfer Gary Boyd says he has been delighted with his form in this year's European Tour. The 24-year-old collected around £600,000 in a year that saw him finish second at the Czech Open and qualify for the Dubai World Championship. "You try to learn from the likes of Lee Westwood and Ian Poulter. Dubai has given me a lot to work on," the world 124 told BBC Radio Northampton. "But this season has been good to me. You don't want to come off the course." Boyd, who finished 15th in the European Tour rankings, also played in the US Open at Pebble Beach in 2010, finishing 117th in only his second Major. "I want to stay on the European Tour, because all the great golfers are coming from Europe now - it showed in the Ryder cup this year," he said. "I will try to get two or three invites to PGA events, though, and that would take my game to the next level."
