Adam Scott closed in on the Singapore Open title, holding a three-shot lead, but bad weather has pushed the European Tour event into a Monday finish. Scott entered the final day with a one-stroke advantage over Ian Poulter and Kang Kyun-nam on 14-under par. The Australian picked up three birdies after a five-and-a-half-hour interruption to reach 17 under. Scott, Poulter (14 under) and Kang (13 under) all have 10 holes to play, with Graeme McDowell on 12 under after nine. The man from Northern Ireland shares fourth place with Anders Hansen of Denmark. Poulter and Kang drew level with Scott at Sentosa Golf Club when both players birdied the third just before the rain came.  | 606: DEBATE |
Englishman Poulter, the defending champion, then almost holed his first shot after the break - his third into the par-five fourth - and both he and Scott picked up shots to move clear of Kang on 15-under with the Korean only managing a par. Worse was to follow for Kang as he bogeyed the next to fall off the pace. A birdie for Scott saw the 30-year-old regain the outright lead, and when Poulter dropped a shot at the seventh the Australian ruthlessly exploited the slip by knocking his tee shot at the par-three eighth to around three feet. He sank the putt to establish a three-shot cushion when play was called off for the day due to darkness. Ryder Cup winners Miguel-Angel Jimenez and Francesco Molinari were both tied for 13th at eight under having played 14 and nine holes respectively. US Masters champion Phil Mickelson had completed 13 holes and was four under, in a tie for 31st.
