Dustin Johnson says it "never crossed his mind" he was in a bunker after hitting his tee shot into the crowd on the final hole of the USPGA Championship at Whistling Straits.

Johnson grounded his club before his second shot, incurring a two-shot penalty and missing out on what he thought was a place in the play-off.
