Former Open champions Sandy Lyle and Paul Lawrie will miss the cut at this year's tournament after second rounds of 76 and 82 respectively. Both Scots finished the day on seven over at St Andrews and their fellow countryman, Martin Laird, was six shots further behind. Andrew Coltart could not match his opening-round 66, but his 77 took him to one under and he progresses. Ryder Cup captain Colin Montgomerie, at one over, also made the cut. Montgomerie followed his opening-day 74 with a one-under 71 on day two. Stephen Gallacher started the day one under but was at par after 13 holes as play was suspended on Friday evening.
