Rory McIlroy carded rounds of 74 and 73 in his two rounds in Texas

Rory McIlroy missed the cut by a shot after a one-over-par 73 in Friday's second round of the Houston Open.

The Holywood player, who was among the early starters, carded three bogeys and two birdies in another disappointing round in Texas.

McIlroy finished on three over, one outside the two-over cut-off mark and 12 shots behind leader Bryce Molder.

Dubliner Padraig Harrington is three off the lead after a second successive 69, despite a double-bogey on the 18th.
