Catriona Matthew hit a hole in one as she won her first major
British Open Champion Catriona Matthew has been named as the Ladies European Tour's Players' Player of the Year.
The 39-year-old won her first major title in August, just 11 weeks after giving birth to her second daughter.
Her three-stroke triumph at Royal Lytham and St Annes, saw Matthew become the first Scottish woman to clinch victory in a major.
"This is definitely the best award when it's voted for by players. It's capped off a good season for me," she said.
Over 15 years as a professional, Matthew, from North Berwick, has won six international titles and played for Europe at the Solheim Cup on five occasions.
This season, she finished second on the Ladies European Tour's Henderson Money List and was 26th on the American money list after only 10 starts on the LPGA Tour.
