Woods lost to Tim Clark in the WGC Match Play last week

Tiger Woods will play at next week's WGC-CA Championship in Florida, the PGA Tour has announced.

Woods, 33, resumed his career last week after an eight-month lay-off following knee surgery, reaching the second round of the WGC-Match Play Championship.

The world number one was knocked out by South Africa's Tim Clark but will now make his strokeplay comeback at Doral.

Woods will join a 77-man field in Miami as he continues his preparations for the Masters at Augusta in April.

"We can confirm that Tiger Woods has committed to the CA Championship," the PGA Tour said in a statement.

The three-time winner on Doral's Blue Monster course claimed the last of his 14 major titles at the US Open at Torrey Pines in California last June, his last 72-hole event before undergoing reconstructive surgery on his left knee.

Geoff Ogilvy, the Match Play champion for the second time in four years, is the defending champion at Doral after beating Retief Goosen, Jim Furyk and Vijay Singh by one shot, with Woods another stroke adrift last year.

Woods has not finished out of the top 10 in his six appearances at Doral and won for three straight years from 2005.

There is no cut at WGC events, meaning Woods will play four days.
