Darren Clarke fired three bidies and a bogey in the final round

Northern Ireland pair Darren Clarke and Michael Hoey finished just a shot behind winner Retief Goosen at the Africa Open in East London on Sunday.

Clarke shared the overnight lead but could only manage a two-under-par 70 in the final round to leave him 20 under and in a tie for second.

Hoey posted a superb 66 with the Belfast player carding birdies on five of the last seven holes.

But twice US Open champion Goosen shot a 65 to secure a home victory.
