Sweden's Johan Edfors and Mikael Lundberg top the leaderboard after day one of the Abu Dhabi Championship. The duo carded six-under 66s for a one-shot lead over a group including 20-year-old Englishman Oliver Fisher. World number two Sergio Garcia is among a number of players who have yet to finish their first rounds after a two-hour hail and rainstorm delayed play. The Spaniard is three under after 14 holes, while Ireland's Padraig Harrington is one over after firing 71. | 606: DEBATE |
The USPGA and Open champion, making his first appearance of the year, had struck four pars in his opening four holes before the freak weather forced play to be suspended. Edfors could have taken the outright lead on the 18th, but missed an opportunity for his seventh birdie of the day when he three-putted for a par five. Defending champion Martin Kaymer is well placed in a group of five players on four under, along with Northern Ireland teenager Rory McIlroy and England's Anthony Wall. Meanwhile, world number 12 Henrik Stenson struggled with a four-over 76, while Scotland's Colin Montgomerie was level par after 15 holes.
