Poulter did not want to risk his world ranking status |
Ian Poulter has pulled out of the 3.2m Singapore Open after his driver was stolen during last week's HSBC Champions event in Shanghai. A replacement club for the Englishman failed to arrive in time for the start of the competition on 13 November. "It's disappointing as I did not come all this way not to play," the world number 25 said. "But with so many world ranking points at stake, if I played badly I may have lost ground." | 606: DEBATE | Tournament organisers have announced India's Anirban Lahiri as Poulter's replacement. The tournament, at Sentosa, features Phil Mickelson, Padraig Harrington and Ernie Els.
