Holywood's Rory McIlroy carded a fourth successive round of three-under-par 69 to finish in a tie for 10th place on 12 under at the Portugal Masters. McIlroy started his final round with an eagle two and then added six birdies, three bogeys and a double bogey seven on the 12th hole in an eventful round. Darren Clarke fired a 66 to end on seven under and Graeme McDowell shot a 70 to leave him on four under. Alvaro Quiros won on 19 under, three shots clear of Scotland's Paul Lawrie. Ross Fisher, Robert Karlsson and Steve Webster were joint third on 15 under, followed by James Kingston on 14 under. Clarke recorded six birdies in his impressive final round and Ireland's Peter Lawrie finished on the same seven-under total as the Dungannon man. Gary Murphy ended the tournament on two under.
