Laura Davies won her first title in eight months as she successfully defended her Austrian Open crown.

The Englishwoman went into the final round tied for the lead and shot a four-under-par 68 to finish three strokes ahead of compatriot Lisa Hall.

Davies won the event last year and has twice finished second.

"Four times I've been here and four times I've been in the presentation. Twice a winner now - it's good," said the 44-year-old.

"The first year I came here I knew I liked the course and I knew I could win and sure enough the last two years I have.

"I love winning and that is what I do this for. It is just fantastic to have won."

The four-time major champion posted rounds of 71, 67, 67, 68 to finish 15 under par, but she had to fend off a late rally from Italian Diana Luna who eventually finish a shot behind Hall in third.

Davies finished with a birdie at the par five final hole and has now set her sights on claiming more titles and adding more Solheim Cup points.

"I want to get my confidence back. I want to be ready to go again next year and be in the Solheim Cup. That is a big thing for me next year," she added.

Despite finishing third, Luna was able to take comfort from a hole-in-one at 16 after a brilliant nine-iron almost landed straight in the hole.
