1991 Masters champion Woosnam is a former world number one |
Bernard Langer closed the gap on Ian Woosnam at the top of the order of merit as he sealed his maiden Seniors Tour victory in Prague. The German held off Welshman Woosnam's charge at the inaugural Casa Serena Open to win by three shots in the battle of the ex-Ryder Cup captains. Langer carded a third successive four under par on Sunday to beat joint overnight leader Woosnam. Now only 10,300 separates the pair at the top of the senior's money list. Langer said: "It's pretty special winning here in the Czech Republic where my dad was born and my brother is running the tournament. "Playing alongside Ian and Peter Mitchell was also special. "Both guys played very well but didn't make any putts. I played with Ian at the Senior Open Championship and he is very competitive."
