Sweden's Lotta Wahlin beat Germany's Martina Eberl on the second extra hole of a play-off at the Wales Ladies Championship of Europe in Machynys. The 24-year-old birdied the par-five 18th hole twice in the sudden-death play-off to deny Eberl, who had led at the end of both previous rounds. Wahlin hit a final round 71 to finish with Eberl on seven under, one clear of Georgina Simpson and Henrietta Zuel. Wales' Becky Brewerton slipped to joint 11th after a closing round of 76. | 606: DEBATE | "I felt like I was fighting my game all day," said the 25-year-old from Abergele, who was second overnight. "I didn't get the ball anywhere near the hole with my putts apart from when I had a putt for an eagle. I think I had 38 putts." The tournament at the par-72, 6,325-yard Llanelli course was reduced to 54 holes when Saturday's partially completed round was washed out. Wahlin, who won her first official Ladies European Tour title at the Turkish Ladies Open three months ago, had a chance to win the tournament at the 18th in regulation. She missed a three-footer for par and dropped a shot, falling back into a tie with Eberl. The German matched Wahlin's birdie in the first play-off hole, but bogeyed next time out to concede defeat. "I'm just so happy," said Wahlin. "When I won the last time I was leading every day and it was quite obvious that I was going to win. "This time I came from fifth place but I'm just so happy. "Now I have proved to myself that I'm one of the best players on this tour and I'm really proud of that."
