England's Justin Rose (67), American Ben Curtis (67) and South Korea's Charlie Wi (70) are on level par. Back on one over are David Toms (69) and Henrik Stenson (70), while Sergio Garcia (73) slips to two over and Phil Mickelson (73) slides to three over. Padraig Harrington and Ian Poulter end five over after rounds of 74 and 71 respectively, while Paul Casey drops three shots in his last three holes to finish six over. The cut falls at eight over. LATEST ACTION (all times BST) | 606: DEBATE | To get involved, text us on 81111, or get in touch on 606 (not all contributions can be used)0040: Sean O'Hair ends on two over after a 73 and with that I'll wrap up for the night. See you for round three on Saturday. Oh, and just one other thing: "Who do you think is most embarrassed by their +20 finish? Mahan or Montgomerie? Unlikely we'll see either of them at Valhalla." rickinvt via email 0030: Sean O'Hair is the leading player still on the course and he's on two over playing the last, while Steve Flesch is three over on 17. 0006: Phil Mickelson cards 73 for three over. Meanwhile, Sergio Garcia gives a very positive interview after his round. "I feel good, I'll tell you why. I played well and I didn't hit any bad putts on 17 [where he made double bogey]. I just couldn't find the hole. The greens were getting treacherous out there but I'm in a good position. That's what majors are about - it's pushing it to the limits. It's just unfortunate that it ended the way it did. It's easily the hardest golf course I've played. Obviously the Open [at Birkdale] was hard because of the conditions but along with Oakmont this is the hardest course. You've got to be patient out there and I've been doing a fairly good job of that. I hope I can do the same thing this weekend." 0003: Stewart Cink takes off his shoes and socks to play a shot out of the water on the 16th and playing partner Miguel Angel Jimenez applauds him. 2350: Sergio Garcia ends with a 73 for two over and Anthony Kim cards 74 for four over. Back on 17, Phil Mickelson blades a chip from the fringe and runs about 20 feet past. Lefty takes two more to get down for a bogey four to slip to three over. He does that bemused smile thing again. 2327: Disaster for Sergio Garcia. After a decent tee shot to the short 17th, he four-putts for a double bogey and plummets to two over. "I honestly think anyone who makes the cut has got a chance of winning," said an incredulous Paul Casey after his round. One man who won't make the cut is Colin Montgomerie, who ends 20 over, 14 over for the day. 2325: Phil Mickelson's woes continue as he bogeys the 15th to slide to two over. "The way its shaping up this has another OPEN finish about it. So hopefully could be a Poulter-type tournement. We need him in the Ryder Cup." Peo, England, via email 2320: Paul Casey makes a third straight bogey to finish six over, while co-overnight leader Robert Karlsson ends with a 77 for five over. 2311: Jeev Milkha Singh bogeys the last for a 74 to end two over. Phil Mickelson, still dwelling on missed putts no doubt, hits a wayward drive on the 15 and curses himself before breaking into a big grin and shaking his head. Sergio Garcia has also been very vocal today and does it again on 16, urging his putt to roll further. He settles for par and moves on. 2306: Phil Mickelson slides back to one over after missing another makeable putt for par on the 14th. 2305: "Forget Sergio - why not Justin? Could it finally be his time?" Mike, England via email 2254: Turns out Paul Casey's seventh par in a row at 16 was actually a five so he slides to four over. 2248: Phil Mickelson finally makes a birdie putt from about six feet and edges back to level after 13. Before putting he spent a good few moments crouched down behind it with his head in his hands. Seems to work. "Watching this, all that's missing are the windmills on the greens. Make it hard yes but not silly. Great golf courses have risk reward and degrees of punishment based on level of waywardness. This is not as Donald Ross intended." Readingbeancounter on 606 2240: Jeev Milkha Singh slips back to one over again after a wayward second costs him a bogey on the 7th, his 16th. 2230: Phil Mickelson sees yet another birdie putt shave the lip and stay out, this time on the 12th "Looks like Sergio is going to be in the mix, maybe it is his time ... we can hope." Moon1971 on 606 Blimey, I thought you'd all gone to bed. "Nope, in the office, with this as the only way to keep up with the scores !... think I'm alone though." Moon1971 on 606 2220: India's Jeev Milkha Singh, the overnight co-leader who went out in 38, drives the 300-yard par-four 6th - his 15th - and makes birdie to creep back to level par. 2200: Sergio Garcia climbs back to level par with a good birdie on the long 12th after a stunning approach and a 20ft eagle chance. Phil Mickelson misses with his birdie chance on 11 and stays one over. 2145: Sergio Garcia slides his eight-foot par putt past on the 11th to slip back to one over and rejoin Phil Mickelson, who bogeyed nine. Graeme McDowell and Simon Dyson are eight over around the turn, Lee Westwood and Ross Fisher are nine over early in their back nine, Oliver Wilson is 10 over and Colin Montgomerie is 17 over. (That's 11 over for the day through 11 holes for Monty) 2120: Sergio Garcia drops a shot at the 10th to leave JB Holmes as the only player under par. 2100: Phil Mickelson bogeys the 7th, while rising US star Anthony Kim makes back-to-back bogeys on eight and nine to slide to three over. 2040: Aaron Baddeley bogeys the 8th and Paul Casey bogeys nine after leaving his bunker shot well short to drop to three over. 2034: Co-overnight leader Jeev Milkha Singh bogeys 18, his ninth, to slide further back to one over. 2024: Phil Mickelson makes his birdie on the 5th to go to one under. Paul Casey misses a shortish par putt on eight to go to two over. Lee Westwood is at one over for the day through six and eight over for the tournament. 2016: Phil Mickelson hits it stiff on the 5th and has a virtual tap-in to join the leaders on one under. Colin Montgomerie, conversely, is five over after six and 11 over for the tournament. 2013: Co-overnight leader Jeev Milkha Singh drops another shot, this time at the 17th to slide back to level. 2005: Aaron Baddeley, he of the stack-and-tilt swing and one-look putting style, bogeys the 6th to slip back to join the pack at one under. Sergio Garcia lets out a Happy Gilmore-style anguished yell as he pulls his second to the 5th. 2000: Paul Casey inches encouragingly to one over with a birdie at the 5th. 1950: Aaron Baddeley pulls off a spectacular second shot at the 5th and holes his birdie putt to take the lead at two under. 1930: JB Holmes ends with a 68 for one under. Sergio Garcia has started par, birdie, bogey, while Aaron Baddeley had an eagle at the 2nd. Phil Mickelson misses a tiddler for birdie at the 2nd to stay level par. 1915: Jeev Milkha Singh bogeys the 13th, his fourth, to drop back to two under. 1905: Jeev Milkha Singh makes back-to-back birdies and moves into the lead at three under after three holes of his second round. Justin Rose finishes off with a three-under 67 to reach the halfway stage level par. JB Holmes bogeys 17 to slip back to one under. Ian Poulter cards 71 to end five over, the same as Padraig Harrington. 1900: Jeev Milkha Singh birdies his second hole to get back to two under. David Toms and Henrik Stenson both end the day one over for the tournament after rounds of 69 and 70 respectively. 1855: More on the Lee Westwood hoo-ha from day one where he criticised the course: "Don't get me wrong, I think Westwood is one of the class golfers of this era. I am sincerely rooting for him. But an honest opinion would have been one concerning the golf course taking a switch to his backside. I score it: Oakland Hills CC winning the first round 10:8 with one knockdown on the 16th hole. A player of his calibre still has plenty of time to recover, though. Ding, ding. Round 2..." Venice1 on 606 1845: England's Nick Dougherty ends a miserable tournament for him with a round of 82 to add to his opening 77 for 19 over. Methinks he's on the plane. 1830: JB Holmes bogeys 15 after three straight birdies to slide back to two under, still a lead of one. Co-overnight leader Robert Karlsson begins with two bogeys and is now level par. 1825: India's Jeev Milkha Singh also bogeys the 10th to slip back to one under. "JM Singh usually seems to hit decent first rounds, followed by poor second ones - I wager he shoots 75 or worse today." Kinsang on 606 1810: Robert Karlsson is up and running but bogeys his first hole, the 10th, to slip back to one under. Darren Clarke finishes with a 76 for 11 over. That's likely, though not definitely given the nature of Oakland Hills, to mean he will miss the cut and dent his hopes of grabbing a Ryder Cup spot. Angel Cabrera is also in the clubhouse on two-over after a 72, while Padraig Harrington ended five over after a 74. 1755: American JB Holmes makes the first big move of the day and edges into the lead at three under with birdies on 12 and 13. 1745: Welcome golf fans, to day two of the text updates from the USPGA. I can't guarantee the fireworks they had at the Olympics opening ceremony in China, but then, frankly, what else can now? To beat that you'd have to use all the fireworks in the world. Twice. So far on Friday there's been no moves on the lead of Robert Karlsson and Jeev Milkha Singh. It looks as if it's going to be another tough scoring day. Ernie Els, Padraig Harrington and Retief Goosen have slipped to three over, while Ian Poulter remains at four over. John Daly and Vijay Singh are languishing at eight over, while Darren Clarke has dropped to 10 over after 16 holes.
