Brazil's Angela Park snatched the halfway lead at the Evian Masters as world number one Lorena Ochoa slipped back to four off the pace.

Park, 19, carded a second-round 68 for a 10-under-par total while Mexico's Ochoa, the first-round leader after a 65, could only manage a one-over 73.

Veteran Swede Helen Alfredsson is one off the pace after a course-record 63.

England's Rebecca Hudson and Wales' Becky Brewerton, with rounds of 72, were the top Britons on even par.

England's Trish Johnson went out in 32, but needed 43 shots on the back nine and tumbled back to one over par and 11 shots behind Park.

Laura Davies, a two-time champion, made the cut by one shot after a disappointing 77.

World number two Annika Sorenstam's bid for a third Evian title was kept alive with a 69 and she stands six shots off the lead on four under.

Alfredsson made four birdies on the front nine and five more on the back nine for a nine-under-par round. Her longest putt of the day was only 12 feet.

"I just love this place," said the winner of the inaugural 1994 Masters and again in 1998.

"The key this season is that I'm healthy. I've had 15 years of injuries, but now I'm feeling really good."

Ochoa, winner of this year's Kraft Nabisco Championship, was not so effusive after her 73.

"Today was a disaster and I'm glad there are still 36 holes to play," said the 26-year-old. "I missed drives, putts and I just couldn't get up and down."
