Graeme McDowell won in South Korea in March |
Graeme McDowell is aiming to boost his Ryder Cup prospects by performing well in this week's China Open in Beijing. The Northern Irishman is 10th on the European points list, helped by his victory in the Ballantine's Championship in South Korea last month. "I realise that is all I am off to, a good start, and there is a lot of work to do," said McDowell, who says that the Ryder Cup is his main 2008 goal. "I am going to have to play some very good golf between now and September."
McDowell believes that he will need to achieve one more win in order to keep alive his chances of playing in Valhalla. "I will need to win again at least and keep punching away and putting points on the board."
The 28-year-old starts as the pre-tournament favourite in China and he fancies his chances of another victory in Asia. "I like the look of this week, like the way the course is set up. It is difficult and I think it will separate the men from the boys."
