Vijay Singh's superb five-under-par 65 in the second round at Bay Hill gave the Fijian a two-stroke lead at the Arnold Palmer invitational in Florida. Lee Westwood's second-round 68 put him three shots behind, along with Ken Duke and Jim Furyk, while Sweden's Carl Pettersson trailed Singh by two shots. Tiger Woods hit a round of 70 that left him seven strokes adrift of Singh. Luke Donald, Colin Montgomerie, David Howell and Paul Casey all missed the cut after poor second rounds. "I hit the ball really good off the tee, gave myself a lot of birdie chances and also helped by chipping in twice as well," said defending champion Singh. "I'm not doing anything special, not doing too much wrong either, just cruising along." Despite his decent round Westwood felt there was room for improvement ahead of his third round. "I hit one bad drive but was never really in too much trouble all day," said Westwood. "I just didn't hit my iron shots close enough to the flags often enough."
