Simon Dyson (l) and Oliver Wilson eye up a putt during their match |
Justin Rose and Paul Casey held their nerve to leave Britain and Ireland level with Continental Europe after the day two fourballs in the Seve Trophy. The pair beat Spanish pair Miguel Angel Jimenez and Gonzalo Fernandez-Castano by one hole in the day's final pairing to leave the match tied at 5-5.
Bradley Dredge and Phillip Archer beat Peter Hanson and Robert Karlsson 5&4.
Oliver Wilson and Simon Dyson got the better of Thomas Bjorn and Soren Hansen 3&2.
But Colin Montgomerie and Marc Warren were comprehensively beaten 5&3 by Raphael Jacquelin and Gregory Havret at The Heritage course in Killenard, Ireland.
Warren had to have stitches after shattering a chandelier in his room while practicing his swing and suffered cuts to his head, arms and stomach.
Last season's Rookie of the Year showed no ill-effects with birdies at the first two holes before the French duo came storming back.

Great Britain and Ireland captain Nick Faldo has opted to leave Montgomerie and Warren out of Saturday's greensomes but revealed they will be back for the foursomes later in the day.
Nick Dougherty and Graeme Storm fell just short against Mikko Ilonen and Markus Brier, who were four up after eight holes, before winning by one hole.
But Rose and Casey, who were three up with six to play, hung on to beat their Spanish opponents with Casey securing the win with a five-foot putt.
The English duo went to the turn in 31 and looked to be cruising until their opponents won the 13th and 15th and then Fernandez-Castano and Jimenez both missed key putts on the 17th.
The latter then almost chipped in on the last, but Casey, bunkered in two, got up and down for the point that squared things up overall.
