Walker Cup pair fly in for match
Rory McIlroy
Rory McIlroy will turn professional after the Walker Cup
Ulster pair Rory McIlroy and Jonathan Caldwell flew into Northern Ireland with their team-mates on Monday ahead of the Walker Cup at Royal County Down.

"I can't wait to get started and Johnny and me are particularly excited about it," said Holywood teenager McIlroy.

"It's weird flying back home to play in the Walker Cup but we want to regain the trophy and I don't really care how I do as long as the team is successful.

"We all get on really well and are focused on beating the Americans."

"We have all been working towards this for a couple of years playing together on the amateur circuit," he added.

Caldwell and McIlroy are tipped to be paired together for the tournament which will be played at the Newcastle course on Saturday and Sunday.
