+49 S Langer (am, Ger) England's David Carter established a two-shot lead at the halfway stage in the Dutch Open at Zandvoort.
Carter shot a second 65 to reach 10 under, with Kiwi Steve Alker, Dutchman Joost Luiten and Swede Alexander Noren on eight under.
Englishmen Ross Fisher and Sam Walker were in a group on seven under.
Bernhard Langer's son Stefan, a 17-year-old amateur who normally plays off plus one, added a 91 to his opening 98 to end his first pro event on +49.
Langer Senior carded 71 for two under alongside the Scottish trio of Andrew Coltart, David Drysdale and Stephen Gallacher.
The 35-year-old Carter's fortunes have dipped since he won the Irish Open in 1998 and clinched the World Cup alongside Nick Faldo for England in the same year.
"My career has spiralled downwards and you need to be inspired to succeed," Carter said.
"Last week my four-year-old son Leo watched me for three rounds with his mum (at the Scandinavian Masters) and that gave me inspiration.
"He always asks if I have bought him a present. I don't want to be going home with nothing to show for my week."
Carter's successes came a year after he underwent emergency brain surgery following a water-chute accident in South Africa.
Last season he narrowly retained his playing card after scrambling in at the final counting event.
